Frequently asked questions about our tours

I'm not a photographer, do you still cater to me?

Yes, absolutely. Even if you have no desire to learn what manual controls are, we can take you to the best spots for you to get a quick snap, and can give you feedback (if you wish) on how to improve the image so you can wow your friends and family when you return!

What are your maximum numbers?

We can have up to 4 people per vehicle / guide, we pride ourselves on our personable approach and we can only achieve this with lower numbers on our tours.

Do you take credit card?

Yes, we accept eftpos, visa and mastercard. Cash is also accepted however please try to bring the correct amount in $NZ.

Do you run private tours for just me or my group?

Yes, absolutely. Please contact us for our private tour rates.

I would like to custom design a multi day tour with you, is this possible?

Yes, absolutely, we pride ourselves on offering a unique and personable experience. Please contact us and we can put together your dream photography tour from a mixture of locations.

I want to do an astro-photography tour, why can't I book online?

As night time photography is very dependent on having clear skies and little moon, it is easier to pay on the day once we know the tour is proceeding. We will call you 1 hour prior to sunset to confirm if the tour is still running.

Does it cost anything to hire your equipment?

No, all our equipment can be used at no cost, just let us know if you would like to use anything.

If I borrow your cameras, how do I get my photos?

You can bring your own SD memory card but make sure it is empty as we will format it on our camera at the beginning of the day. You can buy an SD card from us for $20 to take away with you. Please bring cash if you would like to buy an SD card.

I am a photographer, but my partner is not, can they still come?

Absolutely, they will still have a great time as not only will they see amazing scenery, some of the areas we visit are rich in history from the gold mining days and others are locations from huge movie blockbusters.

Where are the guides from?

Owned and operated by a Kiwi bloke. Originally from the North Island, but now calls Queenstown home.

What do we need to bring?

Sturdy footwear, warm clothing and/or sunscreen are recommended. We have insect repellant spray on board should those pesky sandflys get out of control. IMPORTANT - make sure your camera batteries are charged and you have plenty of memory cards available.

And most of all an open mind ready to see the world with new eyes and to let the days teachings soak in!
